The air is beginning to smell a bit like autumn – a little crisper and colder. A freshness I’ve missed since summer started. Today, I brushed the dust off an old lens I’ve had for years but haven’t used for a long time. It still focuses and captures photographs just as well as it did back in those past days, which already seem so distant now. Spider lilies have already unfurled their thin, curling petals, a sure sign of the coming autumn. Walking down the street on a recent afternoon, I recognized the pale golden, heady scent of osmanthus, another of my favorite fall flowers, perfuming the air for just a moment.
